Laziness, thy name is Saturday.

Not necessarily in the sense that there is nothing to do. There’s plenty to do. And, with enough focus and a little determination, most of it can get done.

The trouble lies in mustering the motivation to get started.

I think we deceive ourselves into thinking that we have a whole day to do all that needs to get done. A whole day with no deadlines, no meetings, and fewer obligations than during the week lulls us into a false sense of security. We think we have all the time in the world, then BAM! It’s Sunday night before you know what hit you, and nothing is done.

The writer of this blog may or may not have experienced this personally.

The best “action” method I can recommend to myself or anyone else is to put a sticky note on your laptop (or somewhere else extremely visible) that says “Everest didn’t climb itself.” Then get going.
